Waterloo station turned evacuated and the jubilee line part suspended after a protection alert

Loads were ordered to depart the station straight away whilst the safety alert emerged simply before 4 pm on Wednesday.

The jubilee line turned into in part suspended and the waterloo and metropolis traces have been absolutely suspended even as officials investigated.

However the item was thankfully deemed to be non-suspicious and the station – one of the busiest inside the capital – is set to be reopened.

A spokesperson from British delivery police said: ‘officials have been referred to as to waterloo underground station at 3.53 pm (15 June) following reports of a suspicious bundle.

‘the station was evacuated as a precaution whilst officers attended to assess the item.

‘luckily it became deemed to be non-suspicious and the station will quickly be re-opened.’

‘there are intense delays affecting service on the relaxation of the road.’
