Saints Row reboot: what can we expect to see from Volition’s next game?

Your First Look At The New Saints Row In Action

The restart of Saints Row was unveiled during the Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live on August 25 at 11:00 AM PT / 7:00 PM BST / 2:00 PM ET (or August 26 at 4:00 AM AEST).

We hoped to see the game outside the wall of the Bonkers brand, and we weren’t disappointed as Saints Row still seems to offer a more ridiculous grip on Grand Theft Auto’s successful open-world formula.

While Saints Row is a reboot, it seems to follow the original game plan very loosely. The first two games in the series began with a much more serious and grounded grip on gangland warfare before Saints Row landed to fight the aliens, attacking people with phallic objects and other common nonsense. The new Saints Row looks like a combination of the two.

The Saints Row teaser website first appeared on August 20, with a graffiti-covered brick wall. The word “reboot” was accompanied by the Saints Row logo, and everyone confirmed that a Saints Row release is coming. The wall has since received a lot of graffiti, and the phrase “keep it weird” suggests that restarting Saints Row doesn’t deviate too far from the silly stunts of previous games.

Saints Row started as a fairly direct racquet racer in Rockstar’s huge Grand Theft Auto series. Released in 2006, Saints Row was exclusive to the Xbox 360, although the sequel to the game, Saints Row 2, came on PlayStation 3.

Both games were perhaps unfairly labeled GTA clones, leading to the rip-off of developer Volition in Saints Row: The Third Rule. The decision to be as stupid as possible was generally well-received, especially as more and more players miss the days when Grand Theft Auto didn’t take itself so seriously. The decision to let go at least helped Saints Rowa gather its own audience and avoid other comparisons with Rockstar’s iconic series.

The restart of Saints Row seems to use the original game as a very loose plan and sprinkles crazy touches and adds fun and liveliness to the overly serious first game. Expect a lot of rough jokes, incomprehensible weapons, and a general tendency to turn things all the way to 11.

The Saints Row game series has taken players to the depths of hell, given us superpowers and foam giants, but now we know the game is happening in a whole new city: Santo Ileso. You also play as the future bosses of the Saints and take on Los Pateros, The Idols, and Marshall, three other gangs competing for power.

Developer Volition promises that the reboot of Saints Row will be “the biggest and best Saints Row playground” to the top. “Wait for the more comprehensive create character option, and all new tasks and side tasks will be completed.
